  120. Thinking about things that happen in the class can be quiet stressful. But I really like the three point process. It keeps everything simple and to the point.

This is a problem that I was facing 2 months ago in my classes (note: I give private classes, so it's a bit different than in a school setting) and my solution was actually to put them into groups!

    -WHAT-
The students were being very quite, became obviously bored in class and disengaged halfway through the lesson. Some even attempted to get a quick cat nap.

    -SO WHAT-
Maybe it happened because of the topics and activities
Maybe because they were only focused on the teacher and felt like they weren't accomplishing anything in the class.

    -NOW WHAT-
Maybe next time I can explain our lesson topic in a quick 15 minute segment.
Maybe I can divide them into groups.
Maybe I can work with each group one at a time as the other groups do activities.
Maybe I can move their desks so they are facing each other instead of the teacher.

  122. Dear all,
In my personal opinion, I consider that writing a journal allows teachers to reflect and analyze about the activities performed in class. Additionally, it helps teachers to have a wide vision about the results obtained in each lesson; moreover, to assess the whole class, it includes their development, students’ development and the results of the class. Consequently, journal will allow us to modify, when necessary, the way how the class is carried out.

The last class I taught was about "How to write a persuasive essay" Because writing is sometimes challenging for students
    What happened?
-I started asking them how do they do to persuade their parents to go out.
    - Students felt comfortable sharing the personal strategies they use (It was ok).
    - I explained that the same happened with persuasive essays, their purpose was to convince an audience. I had to explain what an audience was (students's faces said it was not clear enough).
-I gave some examples and drawa mind map on the board to clarify the concept and what we should include in the essay (It went better that time).
-Students identified the identified the prts of the essay.
-Students created their own mind map before writing.

    Now what?
I feel that the next time I should give my students a list of vocabulary or expressions that they can use when writing their essays. I could also use sampling as an strategy for help my students to improve their writing skills.

  128. Good night everybody,
The most significant moment in my life was two years ago.
    What Happened?
Well, I used to work with third senior high school, in the course there were two women students who do not like the English, they used to say “It does not like, but we will make a great endeavor for achieving the activities” That situation always hit my head for months.
    So what?
Then, in a sharp break on November I found the students singing some current songs in English. Immediately, I spoke them about the cultural week which is carried out in the high school every year, and I asked them if they are interested in singing those songs in public. They thoughtlessly say “YES”. When the day take place they song astonishing, their pronunciation was perfect which caught everybody attention. That moment was the most significant moment in my life as English Teacher. Nevertheless, this situation is broadly linked with the theory of multiple intelligences by Howard Gardner focused in musical intelligence. From this experience I learnt that some students own unique abilities and they can give surprises in any moment.
    Now what?
In the future I will evaluate better to each student with the objective of discover for what things they can do for being motivate to learn English.
